Nayeem — Software Developer of SoundLevelTest.com

Hi, I'm Nayeem, the software developer behind SoundLevelTest.com. I built the site to provide simple, browser-based tools that help people test and understand sound using devices they already have.

SoundLevelTest focuses on practical browser audio utilities, including sound-level measurement and related speaker and classroom tools. My work on the project includes web performance, browser audio APIs, audio signal processing, and accessible digital tools.

I test SoundLevelTest across multiple devices and browsers and document the conditions used for those tests. Because built-in microphones and browser audio paths vary, the site's sound-level readings are presented as estimates rather than as replacements for calibrated professional sound-level meters.

Testing disclosure

SoundLevelTest has been manually tested on an iPhone 15 Pro with Safari, a MacBook Pro with Chrome, a Google Pixel with Edge, and a Windows desktop with an external USB microphone. These tests help verify browser functionality across different hardware and browser environments, but they do not establish universal measurement accuracy for all devices.

The exact Google Pixel model, operating-system versions, browser versions, USB microphone model, and test dates have not yet been documented publicly.

What I maintain

I maintain the browser meter, speaker test, explanatory guides, source links, accessibility, and site performance. When a page discusses exposure limits, I compare the wording with the cited public-health or workplace-safety guidance and label browser readings as estimates.

I also review reports about device compatibility and measurement behaviour. A useful report identifies the page, device, operating system, browser version, microphone, and the result observed so I can reproduce it.
